ART COURSES
To learn more about the secrets of Italian painting, Irma offers full immersion courses housed in her Studio, with accommodation provided within the same building, an old country house in the countryside between Bologna and Florence.
Courses are offered during the summer and are set up on reservation for groups and individuals.
It's the perfect art holiday - learning the secrets of Italian painting whilst at the same time experiencing the country's culture and nature.
Irma also offers courses on reservation in her second studio in England, in the beautiful scenery of the Isle of Wight.
BASIC COURSE - Decorative Wall Painting in Italian Style
course on reservation for groups and individuals
You will paint one or more wood panels with ornamental subjects, choosing among the models available. Panel size: 45 X 60 cm.
The materials will be prepared.
At the end of the course you will have:
- Your own painting/s
- Notes on theory
- Exercises
- Participation Certificate
Duration:
- Short course: 2 days (for beginners).
- Professional course: 6 days (if you want to learn more techniques, paint more subjects, and also study the history of Italian styles).
What you will study:
- Theory of colours and shadows
- design transferring

What you will paint:
- Cornices, friezes and grotesques in classical style

ADVANCED COURSE - Trompe L'oeil
course on reservation for groups and individuals
You will paint a landscape on canvas, choosing among the models available. Canvas size: 100 X 120 cm.
The materials are prepared.
At the end of the course you will have:
- Your own painting
- Notes on perspective
- Participation Certificate
Duration:
- Short course: 4 days (you must have attended the basic course in Decorative Wall Painting).
- Long course: 6 days (for more difficult subjects).

HOW TO GET
Train or flight: You can get to Bologna by train or by plane, and I can come to pick you up at the train station or airport.
Car: If you are travelling by car, take the A1 motorway Milano-Napoli. Between Bologna and Florence, take the Sasso Marconi exit and follow the signs for Monzuno.
